DAVID LON McCARTHY's Obituary
David L. McCarthy, age 66, of Oshkosh, died unexpectedly at his home in Oshkosh on Saturday August 26, 2017. He was born in Oshkosh on April 28, 1951 the son of the late Merwin L. and Fay M. Traxler McCarthy. David married Karen Weber, the love of his life on Valentines Day-February 14, 1974. Until the time of his retirement he was employed by Morgan-Jeldwen in Oshkosh. Among the many passions in his life David loved music, especially Ambrosia, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Savoy Brown. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, old movies, working on his collector truck, karaoke, and socializing with people.
David is survived by his wife; Karen McCarthy of Oshkosh, one daughter, Tania (Mark) Coe, Oshkosh, two grandchildren; Morgen & Ellis Coe, Oshkosh, two sisters; Marla (Mark) Varichak, Oshkosh, and Damaris F. McCarthy also of Oshkosh. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one uncle; Maynard Traxler, and one aunt; Dolores Otto.
In keeping with his families wishes private funeral services where held at Lake View Memorial Park on Thursday August 31. David was entombed in Lake View Memorial Park.
