David George Patzlaff, age 60 of Oshkosh, passed away unexpectedly with his family at his side on Friday, March 12, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born on August 4, 1949 in Oshkosh, a son of the late Carl and Octavia (Latour) Patzlaff. Dave married the former Linda L. Tyrrell on July 4, 1969 in Oshkosh. Dave spent 32 years working at the Leach Corporation and most recently worked for the Oshkosh Truck Corporation. He greatly enjoyed "treasure hunting" at rummage sales and flea markets. He also enjoyed traveling, taking great care of his yard, bike riding, building and fixing things, and time spent with the family cats Molly and Elfie.
His memory will be cherished by his wife Linda, of Oshkosh; a son, Jason Scott Patzlaff and partner, John Brian Becker of Minnneapolis, Minnesota; two brothers, Robert (Bonnie) Patzlaff and Kenneth (Eliane) Parsons, both of Oshkosh; two sisters, Judith Henke and Gail (Leroy) Wacholtz, both of Oshkosh; his mother-in-law, Mercelese Tyrrell of New London; two sisters-in-law, Marion (Glen) Riehl of Shiocton and SueEllen (Larry) Joos of Caroline, WI. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many very dear friends. Dave was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Parsons.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at the Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home, 865 S. Westhaven Drive. The Reverend Nancy Krueger of Peace Lutheran Church will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held for the Patzlaff family at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of service.
