David Poeschl's Obituary
David "Crusher" Poeschl, age 75, of Oshkosh passed away peacefully with his family at his side at Theda Clark on Thursday morning March 22, 2012. He was born in Oshkosh on May 10, 1936 the son of Erwin and Theresa (Biesinger) Poeschl. He was married to his wife Pearl (Ratchman) Novotny on June 9, 1979 in Oshkosh, WI. David served his Country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He then became a Police Officer for the City of Oshkosh Police Department and he was also on the S.W.A.T. Team retiring in 1998. David was a faithful member of St. Jude Parish (Sacred Heart Church) in Oshkosh. He enjoyed motorcycling, boating, bowling, camping, hunting and watching the Packers. David was a loving father, husband, grandfather and loved to give Bear Hugs to his grandchildren. David is survived by his wife Pearl of Oshkosh. One son: David Poeschl, two step-sons: Brian (Trish) Novotny and Joey (Joy) Novotny both of Oshkosh. Three daughters: Wendy (Bob) Mitchell of New York, Kim Poeschl and Tammy Poeschl both of Redgranite. Two brothers: Larry (Carol) Poeschl and Bob (Mary Jo) Poeschl both of Oshkosh. Mother-in-law: Dorothy Ratchman of Oshkosh. Four brothers-in-law: Jerry (Jan) Ratchman of Oshkosh, Vern Ratchman of Appleton, Vic Ratchman of Menasha and Mike Ratchman of Texas. Fourteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. David was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law Victor Ratchman and one great grandchild. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday March 31, 2012 at St. Jude Parish (Sacred Heart Church) Corner of 6th & Knapp in Oshkosh at 12noon. Father Matt Simonar will be the celebrant. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday March 31, 2012 from 10am until the time of Mass. Private family committal services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in David's name.
