David Lawrence Seidl's Obituary
David L. Seidl, age 84, of Oshkosh, died peacefully on November 2, 2018, at his home.
He was born February 13, 1934, in Pizek, North Dakota, the son of Gertrude and Lawrence Seidl. David was a 1951 graduate of Oshkosh High and was a long time member of Saint Jude the Apostle Catholic Church (Saint Vincent). On May 1, 1954 he married Lois J. Roebke, his wife of 64 years.
Dave worked for the Oshkosh Daily Northwestern, for 44 years, as Circulation Manager. He was always able to match a paperboy's name with a route number. After retiring, Dave and Lois enjoyed spending their winters in Arizona and Florida, as well as going on vacation and cruises with their children. His humor and wit will be greatly missed by all that have known him.
He is survived by his wife, Lois; his four children, James and Connie Seidl, Julie (Seidl) and Tim Matsche, Jeff and Tori Seidl, Janet (Seidl) and Mark Leichtnam; his 11 grandchildren, Kelly (Seidl) and Joel Nesbit, Michael and Val Seidl, Meggin (Seidl) and Ted Jennejohn, Bridgette (Seidl) and Luke Balistrieri, Ryan Seidl, Alex and Maribel Matsche, Tony Matsche, Abbey (Leichtnam) and Dan Schonscheck, Mallory (Leichtnam) and Chad Schultz, Emily Leichtnam, and Andrew Leichtnam; and his 7 great grandchildren. Dave was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Delores Spanbauer; and brother, Dennis Seidl.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at Fiss and Bills - Poklasny Funeral Home, Westhaven Drive Oshkosh. Service to follow, Father Louis Golamari officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established. Burial will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
