Delynn (Lillie) M. Nordhaus' Obituary
Delynn Marie Nordhaus (Lillie) — Delynn Marie Nordhaus, 60, of Oshkosh unexpectedly entered into the arms of the angels on January 18, 2023. While our hearts are broken at her untimely passing, she is once again reunited with those she missed dearly that have gone before her.
Delynn was born to the late Donald and Dorothy Lillie on September 30th, 1962 and was raised in Omro, WI. A beautiful baby who grew up to be the world’s greatest daughter, sister, cousin, friend, wife, mother, grandma, and Nannie. Her family was the true joy of her life. She never missed a sporting event, field trip, or special moment in any of our lives. Her face lit up when her family walked through the door. She was enthusiastic about politics and sports. There was rarely a time spent together when a broadcast game wasn’t within earshot. We will especially miss her extensive knowledge of historical sports scores and rankings, from high school to the Pros. She was proud of her long-ranging career from her many years at UW-O, to more recently in retirement as a seasonal employee at Oaks Candy. Delynn gave her time selflessly to her family and would always put anyone else before herself. She was a believer of God and her faith was something beautiful to witness. Delynn married Daniel Paul Nordhaus on September 23, 1989. Together they celebrated and enjoyed 33 years of marriage.
Delynn will be lovingly remembered by her husband Daniel and daughters, Terri (Tristan) Shepherd of Bend, Oregon and Tori (Ryne) Lodl of Appleton, WI, and three grandchildren who she loved dearly, Maxwell and Tessa Shepherd and William Lodl (and grand-fur babies: Ande and Hattie). She is further survived by her brother Michael (Anne) Lillie, step-siblings, Cheryl (Tim) Drazkowski, Mari (Mark) Lemke, Patti (Craig) Howard, Joseph (Judy) Lillie and special brothers- and sisters-in-law, Gary (Kathy) Nordhaus and Jim (Patty) Nordhaus. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, as well as her Aunt Marlene (Bill) Heckler, cousins, and many close friends.
Delynn is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Dorothy Lillie, step-mother Jean Lillie, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Doris and Phillip Nordhaus, grandparents, an uncle and brother-in-law.
We love you so much, and while we wish you were still here with us, we are thankful for all the love and magic you brought to our lives. You cared for us all so fully and completely, and lived your faith so strongly, that you set an example that can never be broken by death.
The family also wishes to thank the first responders and those that helped in Delynn’s final moments before she was greeted at the gates of heaven.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 24 at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Omro (730 Madison Ave). A visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 am at the Church, followed immediately by a funeral mass and then luncheon. (For those that can’t attend in person, the funeral mass will be live-streamed from the St. Mary’s Church website - https://www.stmarychurches.org/.) In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you hug your family and friends extra tight and find an opportunity for a random act of kindness. For those who wish to express sympathy, condolences may be sent to the family or please consider making a donation to your favorite charity in Delynn's name.
May the angels lead you into paradise…
