DEWEY JOSEPHSON's Obituary
Dewey L. Josephson passed away on February 27, 2017 at the age of 59. He was
the son of the late Carrol and Elaine (Steinhilber) Josephson.
Dewey graduated from Oshkosh West High School in 1977. A metal fabricator by
trade, Dewey was employed by Mathfab LLC (formerly John Mathwig & Sons) for
42 years. He enjoyed farming and spending his time outdoors working in his
yard and garden. He was a faithful Green Bay Packers fan and avid John Deere
enthusiast. He was a member of John Deere Two Cylinder Club and the American
Welding society. He also served as a volunteer fireman in the Utica
Volunteer Fire Department for nearly 30 years.
Dewey is survived by: his two children, Heather (Andrew) Thorson and Dewey
(Cheryl) Josephson II; three grandchildren, Abigail, Lydia, and Emily
Thorson; his sisters, Jane Josephson, Trudy Josephson, Betty (Jerry) Keene,
and Joy Smith; his nieces, Amy Clark, Angela (Erik) Folske, Elizabeth and
Dominica Smith; his nephews, Lee (Missy) Clark, Alex and Kyle Keene; and
many other cousins and friends.
Funeral services for Dewey will be held in St Jude the Apostle Catholic
Church (St Vincent worship site corner of South Park and Oregon) on Saturday
March 4, at 11:00 AM with the Rev Matt Simonar officiating. Burial will be
in Peace Lutheran Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the church on
Saturday from 9:30 AM until the hour of services.
In lieu of flowers donations may be given to the Utica Fire department.
