Dolores Ruth Minarik's Obituary
Dolores Ruth Minarik, age 95, of Oshkosh, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Aurora Hospital. She was born on June 25, 1929, in Oshkosh, a daughter of Frank and Elizabeth (Moyer) Uder.
Dolores attended St. Mary’s Grade School and graduated from Oshkosh High School. She married Walter Hartel in 1950, in Oshkosh and worked with him to run Hartel’s Resort on Lost Land Lake outside of Hayward, WI. She was also a cook at various restaurants. Walter passed away in 1984. Returning to Oshkosh, Dolores worked as a seamstress at Oshkosh B’ Gosh. In 1990, Dolores married John Minarik of Argo, IL. John died in 1994.
Dolores was preceded in death by her brother, Fr. Francis Uder CSSR, her sister, Mary Hopp, and brother-in-law, James Hopp.
Dolores is survived by her children, John Hartel and Mary Hartel; James and Dana (Shanklin) Hartel; grandchild Ramakka (Nick) Cartwright, and great-grand child, Zane.
Visitation will be held from 10-11 on Friday, Jan. 17, at Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home on Westhaven Dr. Service will be at 11 with Deacon Pat Gelhar, followed by a burial at Riverside Cemetery.
The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Bethel Home for the wonderful care provided to Dolores these past years. Also, a special thank you to the caring staff at Aurora Emergency Room and Hospital during Dolores’ final hours, and to Fr. Tom Long for the administration of the last rites at the time of her passing.
