DONALD CLAUSEN's Obituary
Donald E. Clausen, age 86, of Oshkosh passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Monday, February 23rd, 2015. Don was born June 19th, 1928 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin; the son of the late Edward and Ellen Clausen. He married Lucille Ann Pollak on July 11th, 1959 at St. Vincent Catholic Church in Oshkosh. Lucille proceeded him in death on May 18th 2013. Don owned and operated a dairy farm with his wife Lucille in Oshkosh. He was also a member of the Utica Volunteer Fire Department In 1990 upon their retirement from farming, they built the home of their dreams, where they enjoyed their retirement together. During retirement, they finally took the time to travel. Don was a devoted husband, father, grandpa and great grandpa who enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Other things he enjoyed were taking the grandchildren on tractor rides, being outdoors, feeding and watching the birds, working in the yard, woodworking projects and cheering on the Packers with his family. His grand kids always knew where to find hard candy and quarters. Survived and deeply missed by his devoted children, Mike (Stacy) Clausen, Cindy (Glenn) Hoops, and Pam (Mike) Meyer. 7 grandchildren, Dan Clausen, Heather (Rohin) Dilkhush, David (Melissa) Hoops, Christina (Peter) Briand, Douglass Hoops, Jessica Meyer and Lucas Meyer, 6 great grandchildren, Ali Clausen, Kenden and Kylynn Dilkhush, Brett, Jacob and Alayna Hoops, and many nieces and nephews. Don was proceeded in death by his loving wife Lucille, his parents, 2 brothers Ervin and Edgar Clausen, twin granddaughters Maggie May and Mindy Lou Hoops and faithful companion "Tippy". Visitation at Fiss & Bills – Poklasny Funeral home 865 S. Westhaven Drive, Oshkosh; Friday, February 27th from 4 – 6 p.m. concluding with a prayer service. Visitation to continue at St. Jude the Apostle Parish (St. Vincent site) on Saturday, February 28th from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Reverend William VanDekreek. Burial will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Don's name.
