DONALD HOLLAND's Obituary
Donald A Holland, age 83, of Oshkosh, died Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Park View Health Center in Oshkosh. He was born in Appleton, WI on July 27, 1933, the son of the late Raymond and Myrtle Hoppe Holland.
Don married Ruth Ann Gebert on November 19, 1955 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Appleton and shared 56 years together until she preceded him in death on April 24, 2012.
After graduating high school, Don briefly served his country in the U S Navy. He was employed by Badger Lumber Co. and Paine Lumber Co., both in Oshkosh, then American Can Co., in Neenah, until his retirement.
Don was a member of St Patrick’s Oratory, Green Bay, because of his long-standing appreciation for the Tridentine Latin Mass.
Don is survived by four sons: Rev Fr Michel Holland OSB, of Indianapolis, IN; Mark (Lori) Holland, of Oshkosh; John (Jyll) Holland, of Oshkosh; Thomas (Annika) Holland, of Oshkosh; two daughters: Mary (Larry) Adler, of Winston-Salem, NC; Cathy (Dennis) Kallin, of Oshkosh; fourteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one sister, Janice Holland, of Oshkosh, and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one brother, Russell Holland, and one grandson, Christopher Holland.
Don’s family would like to thank the staff at Park View Health Center for their care of Don during his stay there.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church (St Mary worship site) on Wednesday, January 4, with the Rev James Jugenheimer officiating. Burial took place in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Oshkosh.
