Donald R. Stindt's Obituary
Donald R. Stindt, age 90, passed away at his home on April 13, 2026 with his daughters and a granddaughter at his side. He was born in Omro, Wisconsin on August, 17, 1935 the son of Viola Draeger. Don married his one true love, Donna Phillip at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on October 15, 1955. They were married for 63 years until Donna preceded him in death. Don was proud of his service in the United States Marine Corp. He served in the Korean war from August 10, 1953 until August 9, 1955 when he was honorably discharged. He worked for the Oshkosh School District as a distribution supervisor for over 30 years until he retied in 1996. Don enjoyed many activities during his 90 years on this earth. He was an avid reader, enjoyed taking long walks, liked “tinkering” on cars, enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packer games every Sunday, loved to travel to visit family and friend and especially enjoyed his many trips with Donna to Las Vegas to gamble and see shows. Even later in life he would say that he wanted to “go for a ride” which was his way of letting his daughters know he wanted to go to a nearby casino for a little gambling. Ever since his children were little, he made sure the family took an annual week of vacation to Sturgeon Bay, WI to stay at the “JB Resort”. It was important to him that we spent time together as a family. So many memories were made on those annual trips. Even now, the tradition continues for his daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He went to Door County with all/some of his family every year starting in 1963 through2025. Don's greatest gifts to those who knew him were his kindness, thoughtfulness, his ability to listen and offer advice when asked, his sense of humor and his undying loyalty and love for his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends were his greatest treasure and his greatest joy in life. He was a Christian man who often said, “If you make God the catalyst of your life, all else will work out”.
Don is survived by and his memory will be cherished by his daughters, Sherry (Paul) Schultz, Deb (Jeff) Teetzen, Tracy (Jim) Marin and Sunsan Stindt; 9 grandchildren, Bryan (Christine) Schultz, Adam Schultz, Breanne (Tom) Hawkins, Donovan (Kaitlin) Stindt, Erin Stindt, Evan Stindt, Kayla (Ghoji) Blackburn, Gabe (Taylor) Marin and Sam Stindt; a brother in law, Mike (Kim) Phillip; a nephew who was like a brother to Don, Dick (Donna) Wara and 11 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
