Donna Pable's Obituary
Donna M. Pable, age 87, of Oshkosh, passed away on Friday afternoon, April 24, 2009 at Evergreen Retirement Community. She was born on May 9, 1921 in Hartford, Wisconsin a daughter of the late Raymond and Frances (Clifford) Schmidt. She moved to Oshkosh in July of 1936 and graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1938. Donna then attended Oshkosh Business College in 1939. Donna served her country as a WAVE from 1943-1946 as a Petty Officer First Class in Washington D.C. She married Aloys R. "Pete" Pable on September 30, 1950. He preceded her in death on June 2, 1996. She had worked as a payroll clerk for Oshkosh B-Gosh for many years and was a long-time member of St. John Catholic Church. Donna greatly enjoyed bowling and will be remembered for her fondness and love for small dogs.
Survivors include a brother, Clifford Schmidt of Fort Wayne, Indiana; sister-in-laws, Dorothy and Delores Pable, both of Oshkosh; her brother's caretaker and good friends, Barb Marshall, Patti and Joe Knudson, Bev Boettcher and Bea Tank. She is further survived by other relatives, neighbors and friends.
Funeral services for Donna will be held on Monday, April 27, 2009 at the Poklasny Funeral Home, 870 W. South Park Avenue in Oshkosh with the Reverend William Vande Kreeke officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Oshkosh. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund will be established.
