Dorothy Epprecht's Obituary
Dorothy B. Epprecht, age 88 of Oshkosh, went to be with her Lord unexpectedly on Friday evening, December 5, 2008 at the Bethel Home. She was born on September 8, 1920 in Oshkosh, a daughter of the late Herman and Elizabeth (Frank) Schmaltz. Dorothy married John R. Epprecht on October 18, 1947 at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. John preceded her in death in 2003. She was a lifelong member of Grace Ev. Lutheran Church and her faith was strong at all times during her life. She greatly enjoyed the company of her family, especially her grandchildren. Dorothy will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will be cherished by her son, Ronald (Sylvia) Epprecht of Oshkosh; a sister, Lorraine (Gordon) Brown of Oshkosh; two grandsons, Ryan (Jill) Epprecht and John Epprecht, both of Oshkosh. She is further survived by three brother-in-laws, Melvin, Fred and Gilbert; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many very dear friends. She was preceded in death by six sisters, Carolyn, Lucy, Bernice, Ruth, Violet and Lillian; a brother, Gilbert. Funeral services for Dorothy will be held on Monday evening, December 8, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at the Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home, 865 S. Westhaven Drive in Oshkosh, with the Reverend Chadwick L. Graham of Grace Ev. Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be next to her beloved husband John in Peace Lutheran Cemetery. A time of visitation and support will be held for the Epprecht family at the funeral home on Monday begining at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of floral expressions, memorials may be made to Grace Ev. Lutheran Church in her name. Dorothy's family wishes that sincere thanks be extended to the staff at the Bethel Home for the loving care and compassion that was shared with Dorothy and the family.
