Dorothy Rohde's Obituary
Dorothy Marie "Dot" Saari Rohde died peacefully with her family at her side after gracefully enduring Alzheimer's Disease, Saturday May 23, 2015. She was born August 14, 1929 in Mohawk, Michigan. She was the daughter of the late John and Marie Saari. Dot was a U. S. Women's Army Corp veteran have served as a 1st Lt. from 1951-1954 in Frankfort, Germany. In 1955, Dot married Carl "Kip" Rohde and they shared 56 years together. Dot fondly recalls her early years at the Michigan Bell Company before joining the Army. She was employed at Theda Clark for 10 years before her retirement. Dot enjoyed playing cards, watching all types of sports on television, especially the Badgers and having an occasional Brandy Old Fashion. She swam frequently at the KC West Health Center in Neenah. Dot was an avid bowler and played softball and volleyball until she was in her 50's. She raised 6 wonderful children and enjoyed spending time with her 10 grandchildren. Dot was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ of Neenah, WI. There she was active in quilting and crafting. Dot is survived by her children: Pamela Rohde of Oshkosh, Kevin (Sharon)Rohde of Brookfield, WI; Doree Klassen of Oshkosh; Cheryl Casey of Minneapolis, MN.; Keith (Maria) Rohde of Phoenix, AZ and Kent (Raea) Rohde of Santee, CA and Her precious grandchildren: Justin Casey, Hunter Klassen, Skyler and Saxon Rohde, Courtney & Jakob Rohde; Nate, Lydia, Sam & Andrew Rohde. A brother John (Marilyn) Saari of Jackson, TN, a sister-in-law Mardee Parks of Neenah,Wl, nieces,nephew and other relatives and friends. Dot was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Rohde and her parents. A Private celebration will be held by her family.
