Dorothy A. Schroeder's Obituary
Dorothy A. Schroeder, age 91 of Oshkosh, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2009 in the Bethel Home. On May 15, 1918 she was born in Oshkosh, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Eppinger) Reischl. She worked as a seamstress at Neubuergers in Oshkosh, and she also worked at LaRista, Warners and Gimbles in Bridgeport, CT, and at Ruthanne's in Oshkosh. On June 29, 1938 she married Carl Schroeder in Vincent's Catholic Church in Oshkosh. He preceded her in death on June 2, 1981. Dorothy was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the DAV Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing and doing crafts.
Survivors include two sisters-in-law: Lucille Berndt and Sister Theodeom Schroeder and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers: George J.,Frank II, Edward and Raymond and three sisters: Mary Glebke, Sister Leona Mary Reischl and Julia Sonnleitner.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 19. 2009 in the St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. William Van De Kreeke as celebrant. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may greet the family from 10:00 to11:00 a.m., Monday in the church. Memorials may be directed to the Amercian Cancer Society, St. Jude the Apostle Parish or the Bethel Home.
