DUANE ARNDT's Obituary
Duane W. "Mike" Arndt Duane W. Arndt, age 83, of Oshkosh, died peacefully at Eden Meadows Green House Home on Saturday, March 7, 2015. He was born on May 22, 1931 in Oshkosh, the son of Walter and Nora (Gall) Arndt. He married Nancy (Neustifter) on October 27, 1956 at the rectory of St. Vincent Church in Oshkosh. Nancy died in 2009. Mike was employed by Kimberly Clark as an airplane mechanic for many years, until he retired in 1987. Mike was a veteran. He enjoyed life with his wife, Nancy at their home on the lake, on Black Wolf Point. Mike and Nancy shared a love for the Bassett Hounds that lived with them through the years. Mike enjoyed everything about cars and was an avid Ford Shelby mustang fan. He enjoyed playing the slot machines on an occasional trip to the casino. In his younger years he was known for playing practical jokes on his buddies. Mike was a perfectionist and took pride in a job well done. He and Nancy supported the Oshkosh Area Humane Society. As his health failed he lived in assisted living homes and Eden Meadows Green House East, where he met some good friends. Mike is survived by his nieces, Mary Jo Neustifter of De Pere, Joan Riedel and her children Emily and Hanna of Green Bay; nephews, Robert Neustifter of Grants Pass, OR, Richard (Beth) Neustifter and their children John, Eric and David of Milwaukee, Ron Neustifter and his children Kaylin, Ashley, Paige and Sawyer of Oshkosh, dear friend Sue Kersztyn and other good friends. We will miss him. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Nancy, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jack and Faye Neustifter, and good friend George Kersztyn. A memorial service for Mike will be held in Fiss & Bills Funeral Home (865 S Westhaven) on Saturday March 14, at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:30 AM until the hour of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Oshkosh Area Humane Society would be appreciated in Mike's name. Mike's family would like to give a special thank you to the dedicated nurses and shabazim at Eden Meadows Green House East, and to his fellow elders that looked out for him. Most importantly, we give thanks to the Lord for Mike's life and for the Lord's eternal love. Fiss & Bills-Poklasny 865 S Westhaven
