Edith C. Schneider's Obituary
Edith Caroline Schneider, age 92, of Oshkosh, died Sunday February 14, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center. She was born in Oshkosh on March 24, 1923 the daughter of the late John and Isabella Kamm Sweet. Edith married Frank G. Schneider on October 30, 1947 in St. Peter’s Catholic Church. He preceded her in death in 1991. She was a past member of St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Oshkosh, Oshkosh Catholic Women’s Club, and St. Josaphat’s Ladies Society.
Survivors include one daughter; Mary (Jan) Nicholl, of Winchester, one son; Thomas (Becky) Schneider, Oshkosh, two granddaughters; Jodie Gazzana, Oshkosh, Amie (Jason) Strange, one grandson; Erik M. Schneider, Oshkosh, sister-in-law; Betty Sweet, Waupaca, special nephews; Steven, Terry, Greg, and Rusty Sweet. Edith is further survived by one daughter-in-law; Karen La Chey.
Edith was preceded in death by one son Michael Schneider, and one brother; Orvil L. Sweet.
A Mass Of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday February 19, 2016 at 11:00 AM in Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church (St. Josaphat church 1333 Walnut St) with the Rev James Jugenheimer as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the church on Friday from 9:30 AM until the hour of Mass.
Edith’s family wishes to extend a very special Thank you to the doctors and nurses at Mercy Medical Center’s Primary Care unit for all the tender care they gave her in her final days.
