Edna Calkins' Obituary
Edna M. Calkins, age 73, of Fond du Lac, formerly of Oshkosh, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2009 at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac. She was born on June 12, 1936 in Knoxville, TN a daughter of the late Nathaniel J. and Madeline (Pennock) King. She married LeRoy M. Calkins on February 23, 1954, he preceded her in death on March 11, 1995. Edna greatly enjoyed watching and was a dedicated fan of the Green Bay Packers and Brett Favre. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Her memory will be cherished by two sons, Jeffrey L. (Pauline) Calkins of Jacksonville, NC and LeRoy M. (Angela) Calkins Jr. of Oshkosh; three daughters, Debra L. (Robert) Johnson of Walhalla, SC, Julie M. (James D.) Whitt of Fond du Lac, Brenda S. Ross of Oshkosh; two brothers, Rueben Pennock and Nathaniel J. (Theresa) King, both of Clintonville; a sister, Barbara (Lester) Laabs of Oshkosh and a step-sister, Stephanie Tomko of Oshkosh. She is further survived by 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, other relatives and many very dear friends. She was preceded in death by a sister, Delores O'Mary. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Lake View Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the Hospice Home of Hope, 400 Hwy. K, Fond du Lac, WI 54935.
