Eileen M. Hansen-Bronson's Obituary
Eileen M. Hansen-Bronson, age 90, passed away Friday January 5, 2018 at Eden Meadows in Oshkosh. She was born February 16, 1927 in Oshkosh to Walter and Cecilia (Montabon) Hintze. She married Walter Hansen on March 15, 1949 who preceded her in death on January 6, 1987. Eileen was married to James Bronson on August 10, 1990. James Bronson preceded her in death on January 6, 2009.
Eileen graduated from Mercy School of Nursing, and worked at Mercy Medical Center as a nursing supervisor for most of her career. She loved caring for people and was very proud to be a part of the nursing profession.
Eileen was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She enjoyed caring for her grandchildren as they grew up, many of them think of her as their second mother. The most important thing in her life was her family. She was a volunteer for the Big Brother Big Sister of America Organization. Eileen was a member of First Presbyterian Church and served as a Deacon and an Elder.
Eileen is survived by her 1 son, Thomas (Kareene) Hansen of Waupaca, 3 Daughters, Christine (Lawrence) Flaherty of Troy, Michigan, Laura (Blaine) Felsman of Oshkosh, and Mary (Mark) Zelhofer of Oshkosh, 2 sisters, Joanne Schlichting and Judy (James) Wollangk, 10 grandchildren, Ryan and Katie Flaherty, Brett (Amanda), Kara, and Kelsey Felsman, Taylor and Brittany Zelhofer, Grace Hansen, Alissa and Evan Nunez, 1 great granddaughter, Mallory Eileen Felsman, 2 sister-in-laws Carol Hintze and Mary Hintze, and many nieces and nephews.
Eileen is preceded in death by her first husband Walter Hansen, her second husband James Bronson, her parents, 6 brothers, Milton Hintze, Eugene (Joyce) Hintze, Neil (Rita) Hintze, Gerald Hintze, Dennis (Ruth) Hintze, and Keith (Carol) Hintze, 2 sisters, Suzanne (Richard) Ludwig and Glorianne Mattison, and 3 brother-in-laws, John (Jo-Ann) Hansen, Robert Hansen, and Gabe Schlichting.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday January 11, 2018 at 5:00 pm at Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home at 865 South Westhaven Drive Oshkosh, WI 54904. The visitation will be from 3 pm until 5 pm on Thursday at the Funeral Home. Pastor Tom Willadsen will be officiating.
In Lieu of flowers memorials should be directed to First Presbyterian Church at 110 Church Ave, Oshkosh, WI 54901 and to the American Diabetes Association.
