Eleanor Combs' Obituary
Eleanor Johanna "Guppy" Combs age 91 of Oshkosh passed away on Monday morning May 4, 2009 at Evergreen Retirement Community. She was born in Oshkosh on September 28, 1917 the daughter of Frank and Ida (Gorchels) Reichenberger. She married Edmund Tabalske who preceded her in death. She married her 2nd husband Frank Combs, Jr. She was employed at the Piggly Wiggly as a clerk for over 25 years. She was a faithful member of St. Jude Parish (Sacred Heart Site), member of the 3rd order, Rosary Society, her hobbies include gardening, crafts and cleaning. Guppy is survived by three daughters Mary Swanke of Oshkosh, Phyllis (Carl) Johnson of Pine River and Sharon (Edward) Koyen of Berlin. One sister Marie Beduhn of Colusa, CA, eighteen grandchildren, thirtyeight great grandchildren and one great great granchild. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Edmund and Frank, one daughter Judy Strobel, one son Charles Tabalske, four sisters and six brothers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday May 6, 2009 at 11am at St. Jude Parish (Sacred Heart Site) at 519 Knapp St. Oshkosh, WI 54902. Father Tom Reynebeau will be the celebrant. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 10am until the hour of Mass at 11am. Committal services will be held after Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Memorials should be sent to the Oshkosh Area Humane Society at 1925 Shelter Ct. Oshkosh, WI 54901. Guppys family would like to thank the entire staff at Evergreen Retirement Community for all the loving care given to her over the years.
