Eric Henry Anderson's Obituary
Eric Henry Anderson, 63, of Oshkosh left his family and this world on Friday, October, 26 2018.
Eric is survived by his wife, Mary Jo (Kempinger); his children Graham (Jennifer) and Claire Anderson; his brothers Geoff (Sam) and Chris (Sheri). Nieces and Nephews; Amie Priscal, Teresa (Keith) Cook, Jeremy (Christina) Zeutzius-Anderson, Jessica, Phillip, Kristine Mitchell, Brian (Kerry) Mitchell and his aunts Helen Geniesse and Char Sievert and one very special grandson, Oliver Anderson.
Eric was born at Fort Hood army base in Killeen, TX on November 5, 1954, to Richard and Jeanne (Seivert). He then moved to Wisconsin and resided there for the rest of his life. After attending Lourdes High School and graduating with the Class of 1972, he attended and graduated from the University of Wisconsin -Oshkosh with a degree in Political Science. He worked at Thimke Jewelers; in 1988 he returned to school at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and received his Masters in Curriculum and Supervision in 1989. He taught civics, geography, and history for 27 years, the majority of which were at Woodworth Middle School in Fond du Lac, WI. During that time he was honored with Teacher of the Year for the Fond du Lac School District. Eric was also the Membership Secretary for Wisconsin Council for the Social Studies and received the Snavely Award in 2006. He also served on the Unified Catholic Schools Board (Lourdes Academy) in Oshkosh. Eric retired in 2016 and enjoyed spending time with his wife, two children, daughter in law, and grandson. His passion for education and helping others never ended and lives on in so many people that he touched throughout the years. All will miss him terribly but are better for having known him in their lives.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Eric on Saturday, November 3, 2019 at 11am in St. Jude Parish (St. Vincent Catholic Church) on the corner of Oregon St. and W. South Park Ave. The Mass will be concelebrated by Rev Louis Golamari and Deacon Pat Gelhar. A time of visitation and sharing will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm on Friday, November 2, 2018 at Fiss & Bills 865 South Westhaven Drive Oshkosh, WI. A parish prayer service will be held at 7pm at the funeral home. Visitation will continue at the church on Saturday, from 10:00 until the time of Mass. Burial will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Oshkosh.
In lieu of floral expressions a memorial fund is being established.
Eric’s family would like to extend a very warm thank you to the ICU nursing staff at Aurora of Oshkosh, St. Luke’s ICU, and to Rebecca Schettle for assisting Eric in his final days and hours.
