Eugene W. Annis' Obituary
Eugene Walter Annis, age 71 of Oshkosh, passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2010 in his home. On September 15, 1938 he was born in Oshkosh, the son of LeRoy and Frances (Frank) Annis. For 30 years he worked for Georgia-Pacific in Menasha. Gene was a member of the former St. John Catholic Church. For four years he served in the U.S. Air Force, having served in Greenland. He enjoyed playing cards, gambling, softball and doing woodworking. On February 27, 1965 Gene married Joan Binder Marohl in Oshkosh. She survives along with his four sons: Eugene Marohl and Robert (Renee) Marohl, Brian (Sherri) Annis and Kevin Annis all of Oshkosh; his daughters: Susan (David) Hulet of Hoffman Estates, IL and Dottie (Glen) Durrant of Oshkosh; his 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; his two brothers: LeRoy and Bruce (Kathy) Annis both of Oshkosh and one sister: Marlene Rieben of Twin Lakes, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister: Charmaine Gray.
Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m., Friday, March 26, 2010 in the Poklasny Funeral Home, 870 W. South Park Ave., with Rev. Fr. William Van De Kreeke officiating. Inurnment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Oshkosh. Friends may greet the family from 2-4 p.m., Friday in the funeral home. On-line condolances may be made at: fissbillspoklasny.com
