Fernando Fletcher's Obituary
Fernando was born in Barcelona Spain, 7 Sep 1959. At the age of five he moved with his parents to the United States on an Air Force Base near Detroit Michigan. From there his family moved to New London WI. He graduated from New London High School in 1978.
During High School he played football and ran Track for the Bulldogs. He loved the Packers, the Brewers, and NASCAR racing. When Dale Earnhardt Jr. retired he moved away from racing. His father taped a lot of his track races and still has most of them.
He retired from Gannett Newspaper in 2016 because of the heart problems that he had. He moved in with his father and they took care of each other. His father will miss him a lot.
He is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Fletcher, Sarah Fletcher, his father Terence Fletcher, his sister Cindy Hardell and her husband Mark Hardell, two nieces Nicole Davidson and her husband Eric Davidson, Michelle Diaz Cummings and her husband Tim Cummings. Great nieces Zaylee & Skylar and great nephews Austin and Parker. He is further survived by his ex-wife, Mary Jo Fletcher. He received his American citizenship in March of this year.
Fernando was preceded in death by his mother, Maria Teresa Fletcher and his brother Jose Diez-Fernandez along with his maternal and paternal grandparents, uncles and aunts.
A memorial service will be held for Fernando on Saturday June 9, 2018 at 11:30 am in Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home at 865 S. Westhaven Drive Oshkosh, WI 54904. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home. Deacon Pat Gelhar will be officiating. The Burial will be held on Monday June 11, 2018 at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Neenah, WI.
