Frank "Butch" Jungwirth's Obituary
Frank “Butch” Jungwirth, age 76, passed away on Friday, October 12, 2018 in Oshkosh after a short battle with cancer. We were devastated by the diagnosis, but he handled it bravely and never complained. I miss him already. Butch was born in Oshkosh on October 9, 1942 to the late Frank and Virginia (Safford) Jungwirth.
Frank retired in 2006 from Race Office Supply. Prior to that he managed the bowling lanes at Oshkosh Eagles Club on Washington St, now known as the Howard. In very early years he worked at Chief Oshkosh Brewery and operated a bar for 3 years on 16th and Oregon. He also played alto sax with VFW band for many years.
Butch loved reading newspapers and working jigsaw puzzles. There was always one in progress. He never missed listening to Packers, Brewers, and Nascar and the pools that went with them.
In earlier years Cathy and Butch did yearly road trips within the U.S. In later years, they enjoyed Casino visits.
Butch was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 267 for 42 years. He served as Secretary for 20 years.
Butch is survived by his loving wife, Cathy (nee Spanbauer) Jungwirth, 2 brother-in-laws; Clyde (Elaine) Spanbauer and Joe Spanbauer, nieces and nephews, and other friends and relatives.
Butch is preceded in death by his parents, Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Joe and Frieda Spanbauer.
