FRED CHARLES DAHL JR's Obituary
Fred C Dahl Jr, age 87, of Oshkosh, died Monday January 7, 2019 at his home in Berlin, WI. He was born in Oshkosh on December 28, 1931 the son of the late Fred and Cathryn Schilha Dahl Sr. Dad married Lorraine Privoznik in St John’s Catholic Church in Oshkosh on September 12, 1953. He began his career as Department Store Manager of Johnson Hills in Wausau and Oshkosh. Throughout his professional career Fred held several sales positions, including Sheboygan Casket Co., Highland Memorial Park in Appleton, and most recently National Premium Advertising retiring in 1993. Dad enjoyed sailing, raising Bonsai Trees, trout fishing, gardening, joke telling and truly had one of the quickest wits Oshkosh has ever seen. His incredible wit and nutty sense of humor always kept us laughing. Until dementia set in, he had an amazing memory and could recall many details of past events. There was no choosing teams for Trivial Pursuit, it was always Dad against the rest of the family and he always won!! Providing for his family was always number one priority often working on straight commission. He managed to provide us with everything we ever needed and much, much more. Dad had an inquisitive mind and we loved his captivating stories about life.
Fred is survived by his wife of sixty-five years; Lorraine Dahl, of Berlin, two sons; Tom (Mary) Dahl, Appleton, Jim Dahl, Oshkosh, three daughters; Mary (Keith) St Louis, St Paul MN., Christine (Michael) Dahl, Santa Barbara CA., Lisa (Doug) Dahl, Neshkoro WI., one sister; Nancie (Dave) Geffers, Oshkosh, four grandchildren; Alex, Adam, Joel, and Nathan Kado. Fred is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by three brothers; Richard, Robert, Vince, and one sister; Elizabeth Dahl.
