Fred A. Weisheipl Jr.'s Obituary
Fred A. Weisheipl Jr. age 92, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 3, 2013 at Elijah's Place. He was born on June 15, 1921 in Oshkosh, a son of the late Fred A. and Theresa (Jungwirth) Weisheipl Sr. He married the former Mary M. Sacho in October of 1947. Fred served his country in the US Navy during both WW II and Korea and then in the US Naval Reserve. He had worked for and retired from the Coca-Cola Bottling Company having worked his way up from the Service Dept. to Production Manager. Following retirement, he and Mary lived in both Wisconsin and Florida and greatly enjoyed traveling and playing cards etc. with friends. Fred was very active in his church, Sacred Heart Catholic, having been on the Usher's Club and the Holy Name Society. He also was active in Senior Olympics, that of horse shoes and dart ball, having been on championship teams for both throughout the years. He is survived by and his memory will be cherished by two sons, Phillip J. of Texas and Daniel J. of Oshkosh; a granddaughter, Rebecca (Mark) Habeck of Oshkosh; a niece, Christine Sully of Sister Bay, WI. He is further survived by many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary in 2007; a daughter, Bonnie Weisheipl; a sister and brother-in-law, Ruth (Arthur) Nehring. A Memorial Mass celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Jude the Apostle Parish, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the corner of 6th and Knapp in Oshkosh. The Rev. Fr. Matt Simonar will celebrate the Mass. Inurnment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. A memorial fund will be established. The family would like to thank the Staff of Elijah's Place and the Aurora VNA Hospice for the excellent care that was provided to Fred and his family.
