Gail M. Kimball's Obituary
Gail Margie (Leininger) Kimball, age 87, of Oshkosh passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025.
Our wonderful wife, mom, and grandma was born to Victor and Margie Leininger in Oshkosh on March 2, 1938. She was so proud to have attended St. Mary’s School throughout her early years and her Catholic faith never wavered throughout her life. Gail graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1956 and married the love of her life, Roger, on July 13, 1957…a love that lasted over 67 years.
Gail enjoyed working for the Wisconsin Axle after high school and then began her favorite adventure…being a Mom and raising her children, Jody and Jamie. She was always present, never missed an activity, and loved to volunteer at school. Later, she worked for the Oshkosh school district as a paraprofessional for many years, making a difference in the lives of countless children. Then Gail discovered Longaberger baskets! She became a sales rep and avid collector…you couldn’t turn a corner without seeing a basket proudly on display.
The best chocolate chip cookie maker around, baking gave Gail great joy, as did her many yellow labs and golden retrievers over the years. Emme will certainly miss her sneaking food to her under the table.
Mom’s greatest joy in life was being Grandma to Brynn, Meg, Kyle and Kelly. They all adored her and will miss her deeply.
Gail is survived by her husband, Roger, her daughter Jody (David) Hartzell, son James (Patti) Kimball, and grandchildren Brynn Hartzell, Meg (Sam) Hawley, Kyle Kimball, and Kelly (Brandon) Neuberger. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Peter and sister Nancy.
A private family ceremony was held at Riverside Cemetery on Friday, April 11.
A special thank you for the loving care provided by the staff of Eden Meadows and Heartland Hospice. Your kindness will not be forgotten.
We will miss you every day and love you for the wonderful life you have given all of us.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” ~ John 3:16
