Gary D. Jorgensen's Obituary
Gary Dean Jorgensen, age 85, of Gillett, passed away on January 9, 2026, surrounded by his family. Gary was born on October 22, 1940, in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He graduated from Green Bay West High School and St. Norbert College, with a degree in chemistry. He worked for thirty years in the field of chemical sales. On July 13, 1963, he was united in marriage to Jean Geimer in Green Bay. Gary and Jean moved to Neenah and Milwaukee, then lived in Appleton most oftheir married life before retiring to Moshawquit Lake. Gary was a member of St. Bernadette parish in Appleton and Sacred Heart parish in Shawano. He loved to travel the world with Jean, taking cruises and exploring many countries. He spent the winter months swimming and golfing in The Villages and the summer months with family on Moshawquit Lake. He also gave of his
time mentoring at-risk youth at the Shawano County Jail. Gary’s favorite activity was playing cribbage, and few were able to beat him.
Gary is survived by his children, Mark (Sherri), Jim (Teri), John, and Lori (Christa), eleven
grandchildren, Alexis, Ashlyn, Aubrey, Preston, Cole, Sara, Matt, Aaron, Ryan, Megan, and Millie, and six great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jean, and his parents, Arnold and Mildred.
A memorial mass for Gary will be held at 11:00 a.m. at St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church in Oshkosh on February 7, 2026, with Fr. Tom Long officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the church.
