Gary Allen Mosher's Obituary
Gary Allen Mosher was reborn into life on October 23, 2022, after a long battle with heart disease and Alzheimer’s. He was surrounded by family.
Gary was born April 21, 1936 to Belva (nee Thompson) and Eddie Mosher in Borth, WI. He was the second oldest of five children raised in Berlin, WI where he graduated from Berlin High School in 1954. He married the woman who would become his best friend, Beverly Marks, in 1960. They welcomed two children, six grandsons, and two great grandchildren who were the joys of their lives. Gary was a tradesman, sharing his many talents with customers, friends and family. He was also a veteran.
Remembrances tend to focus on one’s accomplishments--the things one did while on this planet. Gary, however, will be remembered for who he was—a kind and gentle son and brother; a devoted husband and best friend to Beverly; a proud and loving father; a beloved grandfather; and a great grandfather. Gary was a kind and humble soul who came into this world without the DNA for complaining. Gary was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament (St. Peter's Church). He never asked for more than he had, and he was grateful for all he was given. He loved his job and hence never worked a day in his life. He poured himself into fishing, golf, and reading—three hobbies that bordered on fanatical in their turn. He always had time for others but never had time for imperfection in his work, and was willing to help those around him whenever asked. Most of all, he was loved, and those who are truly loved never really leave us.
Gary is survived by his wife, Beverly; his son Doug Mosher (Kate Robinson), daughter Amy Mosher-Garvey (Joseph Garvey); grandchildren Josh, Jake, Kieran, Aidan and Logan Garvey and Ryne Mosher; great grandchildren Grayson and Emilia; special daughter-in-law Julie (Conrad) Peters; sister Kristin Belongia, and mother-in-law, Lillian Bach, and many nieces and nephews. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Belva and Eddie; his sisters Beverly Dillman, Monica Caswell, Shirley Lund, and brothers-in-law Joseph Belongia and Miles Caswell.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 12 noon at the Fiss & Bills Funeral Home at 865 S. Westhaven Drive. Oshkosh, WI 54904. Father Tom Long will officiate. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:30 am until the time of service.
The family would like to thank Dr. Brescia and Roxanne and Dr. Mitchell’s team at the VA. Your professionalism and compassion are not overlooked.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that gifts be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation to help fund research to end the disease that took Gary from us long before he passed.
