Genevieve Kaufmann's Obituary
Genevieve M. "Gen" Kaufmann, age 96, of Oshkosh, passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at the Bethel Home. She was born on October 2, 1915 in Oshkosh, a daughter of the late Felix and Stephania (Gogleski) Dlugolenski. She married Jacob A. Kaufmann on May 4, 1940 in Oshkosh. Gen was a Seamstress most of her life, she was a lifetime member of St. Josaphat Catholic Church and was currently a member of St. Jude Parish. She had also volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul.
She is survived by and her memory will be cherished by her husband of 71 years, Jacob A.; two sons, Richard (Donna) Kaufmann of Oshkosh and Paul (Amy) Kaufmann of Rio, WI. She is further survived by nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many very dear friends. She was preceded in death by siblings, Stella, Mary, Eleanor, Priscilla, Charles, Ted, and Walter; a grandson, Christopher Kaufmann and a great-grandson, Kyle Kaufmann.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mrs. Kaufmann on Monday, April 2, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Josaphat Catholic Church, corner of Congress and Walnut Avenues in Oshkosh. The Reverend Fr. Matt Simonar will celebrate. Burial will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. A memorial fund will be established.
