George Daniels' Obituary
George G. Daniels, age 80 passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 11, 2008 at Northpoint Medical Center where he was a resident. His wife Rose Marie was at his bedside.
George served his country in many capacities. The Army years were served during the Korean Conflict as a Medic, taking care of our war injured. He also served in the U.S. Air Force and the Merchant Marines. He attended college at the University of Wisconsin/Oshkosh. George enjoyed reading and learning his entire - never fictional, but always factual. George wrote beautiful poetry and also wrote a book on his own life experiences while living in Japan. Photography and classical music were his hobbies.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Rose Marie; his three step-children: Peggy Saunders and Eugene Saunders both of Oshkosh and Dawn (Phillip) Gray in Wakingham Berk, England; stepdaughters: Suzanne and Patricia Saunders and seven step-great-grandchildren including a very special step-great-grandson who was George’s little buddy: Dyllin; his only sister: Joan (Vernon) Rogers of Oshkosh and his sister-in-law: Olivian (Lance) Wilde of Omro. George is preceded in death by his parents: George and Goldie Daniels, one brother: Robert “Bob” Daniels and his first wife: Reike of Japan.
Per George’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 16, 2008 in Lake View Memorial Park, with Rev. Fr. William De Kreeke officiating. Full military rites will also be performed.
