GEORGE OREN PAYNE's Obituary
George O Payne, age 86, of Oshkosh, died Friday, January 15, 2016, at his home with his family by his side. He was born in Ripon, on December 25, 1929, and preceded in death by his parents George Payne and Anna Lambert . George married Rose Mary Gorman on June 10, 1950. He was the owner operator of Payne’s Auto Body in Oshkosh, and until the time of his retirement was employed by Winnebago County Highway Department as a Shop Foreman. George enjoyed spending time at the family cottage, travel, winters in Florida, and anything car related. He was a member of St Raphael’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife; Rose Mary Payne, of Oshkosh, his children; Tom (Karen) Payne, George (Quinn) Payne, Kathy (Bob) Harris, Patti (Jim) Michelson, all of Oshkosh, seven grandchildren; Tim, John, Ryan Payne, Erik Michelson, Kristi (Matt) Clover, Cassidy Fontana, Lisa (Lance) Bartels, six great-grandchildren, and one sister; Anna Kuhnz, Oshkosh. George is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 19, at 11:00 AM in St Raphael’s Catholic Church, with the Rev Edward Looney officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 AM until the hour of services.

In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established.
