Martha Garrett
During our visit in Gerry and Marie’s home, we experienced firsthand his kindness, quiet strength, and generous hospitality. A brave Vietnam veteran, Gerry carried himself with dignity and honor, yet in his own home he was simply a warm and attentive host who made everyone feel welcome.
Our mornings were simple and special — coffee, the newspaper, games, and easy conversation around the table. When my sister Peggy and I were playing a game, Gerry quietly watched for a while before joining in. To our surprise, he soon was beating us at our own game. That was Gerry — observant, sharp, and always good-natured.
He took great pride in keeping his yard immaculate and lovingly cared for Marie’s beautiful roses. In every detail of his life, Gerry showed devotion, steadiness, and consideration for everyone. His presence made the time we shared in their home truly unforgettable. Until we meet again. Stan and Martha Garrett
