Gerald M. Russell's Obituary
Gerald M. Russell, age 81 of Oshkosh, passed away Friday afternoon, August 21, 2009 in the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison. On March 14, 1928 he was born in the Town of Pine Grove-Almond, WI, the son of Raymond and Margaret (Yonke) Russell. He worked for the Morgan Door Co., from 1954 to 1993. A member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church (St. Mary's site). he was was also a member of Carpenters and Joiners Local 1363. Gerald was a Friend of the Senior Citizen's Center and he was fond of dogs and cats. He enjoyed gardening and sharing his vegetables with his friends and he also enjoyed the pizza parties with his college friends.
Survivors include one brother: Raymond R. (Sandy) Russell of Escondido, CA; three special friends: Nancy Samida, Rita Campbell and Ethel Rasmussen, who he took out for dinner once a month and his feline campanion: "Jack Daniels." He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother: Conrad and a sister: Eunice.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 25, 2009 in the Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church (St. Mary's site) with Rev. Jim Jugenheimer as celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may greet the family from 5-7 p.m., Monday at the Fiss & Bills Funeral Home, 865 S.
