Germaine Rita Hensel's Obituary
Germaine R. Hensel passed away on December 28, 2017 at Parkview Health Center surrounded by her family.
Germaine was born June 27, 1929 the daughter of George and Victoria (Widzinski) Bruehmueller. Germaine graduated Oshkosh High School and was employed by the Oshkosh Teacher's College and H.C. Prange/Younkers as a Clinique consultant until the time of her retirement.
Germaine married Gerald Hensel November 3, 1951. He preceded her in death on October 3, 2011.
Germaine is survived by her children Greg (Carol) Hensel of Oshkosh, Gretchen (Mike) Behm of Appleton. Two Grandchildren Abigail (Jeremy) Schumann of Oshkosh, Slaten (Kayla) Behm of Oshkosh. One Great Granddaughter Callie Schumann and a Great Grandson due in May of 2018. Germaine is survived also by one sister Blanche Glatz of Oshkosh. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Janis (Fred) St. Dennis, Joan Kuhn, Jane Koeffler, and Jackie Boese, and many nieces and nephews.
As everyone knows Germaine loved to shop and on any weekend could be found at a mall from Milwaukee to Green Bay. She also enjoyed all the small shops in the Northwoods. Germaine's favorite holiday was Christmas where every room in the house was decorated and the smell of pine and cinnamon filled the air. She wrapped tons of presents and always had her Christmas Eve buffet.
Germaine always loved to cook and bake. She was known for homemade baked beans in her brown crock which she brought to family gatherings and her Red Velvet cake made for special occasions.
She is preceded in death by her husband Gerald. Her parents, her in-laws Elmo and Leone Hensel, brothers-in-law John Glatz, William Lynch, Harvey Weitz, Robert Kuhn, Rex Koeffler, Robert Boese.
In keeping with Germaine's wishes there will not be any visitation and a private family service will be held at Poklasny Funeral Home on W. South Park Ave with Chaplain Cliff Mast officiating.
