Germaine Rhyner's Obituary
Germaine Rhyner, age 86, of Oshkosh, passed away on Thursday January 3, 2013 at Eden Meadow. She was born in Oshkosh on July 1, 1926 the daughter of the late Isadore "Babe" and Adella Steig Selenka Seibold. Germaine attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from Oshkosh High School. She married Duwoyd "Bud" Rhyner in Oshkosh on October 16, 1957. He preceded her in death on June 30, 1992.Germaine was employed at Winnebago Mental Health for several years before joining her husband, Bud in the One-Hour Martinizing business here in Oshkosh and later worked in the food service for UW Oshkosh until her early retirement to care for her husband during his illness. She enjoyed many craft projects and took great pride in making jams, breads and salsa for her nieces and nephews at Christmas time. She always had a very special Christmas tree adorned with all her personally crafted ornaments-each one hung perfectly on the tree.
Survivors include two brothers, Carl L. "Bud" (Patricia) Seibold, Donald G. (Judith) seibold, one sister, Marilyn Schmidt, a special uncle Joseph (Margaret) Stieg, and aunt-in-law Doris Stieg. Germaine is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her baby brother, Clifford Selenka, step-father, Charles Seibold, brother and sister-in-law, Laverne and Wally Hoehne, brother-in-law, Fredeerick Schmidt, and niece-in-law, Kim Schmidt.
Funeral services for Germaine will be held in Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home (865 S Westhaven) on Friday January 11, at 12:00PM with the Rev. Luke Ferris officiating. Private entombment will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00AM until the hour of services. Germaine's family wishes to thank the staff at Eden Meadow, Michael Duffy MD , and the staff on the second floor west at Aurora Hospital for the gentle care given to Germaine.
