Gertrude M. Ruedinger's Obituary
Gertrude M. Ruedinger, age 93, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully on Monday evening January 5, 2014 at Evergreen Retirement Community. She was born on February 18, 1921 in Menasha, WI a daughter of the late John and Sophia Ratajczak. She married Marcel P. Ruedinger on June 15, 1940. He preceded her in death. She had owned and operated R&S Liquor Store in Coleman, WI and had farmed most of her life. She volunteered for meals on wheels and greatly enjoyed gardening.
She is survived by two sons, Martin (Sue) Ruedinger of Santan Valley, Arizona, Daniel (Linda) Ruedinger of Oshkosh; two daughters, Sharon (Ronald) Brigham of Omro and Peggy Ruedinger-Karls of Oshkosh. She is further survived by eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; brothers, John, Ben, Mike and Edward; sisters, Regina, Cecila and Josephine.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Gertrude on Monday, January 12, 2014 at 11 a.m. in St. Raphael Catholic Church, 830 S. Westhaven Dr. in Oshkosh. The Reverend Michael Warden as celebrant. A time of visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. A memorial fund will be established. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of Evergreen Retirement Community, Creekview household #4 for the compassionate care that was given to Gertrude while she was there.
