Gregory Miller's Obituary
Gregory William Miller died peacefully at NorthPoint Medical and Rehabilitation Center on January 11, 2015 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on his 59th birthday. Greg is survived by his children, Kirsten Miller, Oshkosh, Marissa Miller, Omro, and Nathan (Nichole) Rubel of Port St. Lucie, FL. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Walker, Braedon Miller, Alex Pence, and Ariel, Anna, and Natalie Rubel, his parents Ronald and Shirley Miller of Oshkosh, his siblings Chuck (Cheri) Miller of Fort Atkinson, WI; Doug (Linda) Miller of Oshkosh, Julie (Mike) Lang of Oshkosh, Lori (Brian) Baker, Pickett, WI, Barry (Joe) Miller, Chicago, IL and his ex-wife Bobbie Miller. The family would like to acknowledge the many friends that were there for Greg in good times and bad on his journey through life. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Arthur and Nola Miller of Oshkosh and Dale and Willabell Jones of Oshkosh. Greg was born on January 11, 1956 and grew up on the family farm in the town of Nekimi south of Oshkosh. He graduated from Oshkosh West High School in 1974 and worked on the family farm until becoming employed by Mercury Marine and later Oshkosh Corporation as a materials handler where he worked for most of his career. While working for Mercury and Truck he continued helping out on the farm as needed. Greg was a very capable farm hand and enjoyed working on the farm. He often milked cows for neighbors, and was a skillful mechanic, able to fix most things. Greg also enjoyed cooking and was good at it. Greg suffered a stroke in March 2014 and spent this last 10 months in nursing care, most recently at NorthPoint Medical and Rehab in Oshkosh where he passed away. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home, 865 South Westhaven Drive, Oshkosh, WI 54904. Joanne Schoblaski will officiate the ceremony at 2:00 pm. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Greg’s life from 11:00am until the time of services.
