Guy "Gonzo" Jones' Obituary
Guy E. "Gonzo" Jones, age 81 of Wautoma, WI, passed away peacefully with his family at his side Friday evening October 26, 2018. He was born on January 28, 1937 in Waukegan, IL the son of Edward W. "Casey" Jones and Idelle F. Doolittle. He grew up living in Libertyville, Mundelein, Waukegan, and Chicago, IL before moving to Oshkosh, WI in 1950. Guy graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1955. Guy married Janice M. Ruedinger in 1957. Guy and Janice had 42 years of happiness before her death in 1999. Guy moved to Lake Sharon, in Marquette County, WI in 2000. Guy was a Sales Representative for Kraft Foods-Retail for 28 years, retiring in 1992. Previously, he worked at Krambo and Kroger food stores. Guy loved his Friday night fish frys from the Dakota Inn with his friends Denise, Jack, Sharon and many more. He will miss his great friends Scott, Sadie, Ken, Beth, Dale, Julie, Haley and many others on the lake.
Guy and Janice leave behind their three children. Debra (Frank) Benson of Oshkosh, WI, Suzanne (Robert) Mand of Appleton, WI and Gary (Cecelia) Jones of Beloit, WI. Seven grandchildren, Amanda (Kurt) and Jennifer Mand; Dale (Becky) and Stacy Benson; Brent, Katie and Chelsey McCoy. Six great grandchildren Allyson, Alex, Gavin, Rayne, Claudia and Ceasar. Guy also leaves behind his cousin Byron (Susan) Aslett, sister-in-law Loretta Zelke and numerous nieces and nephews.
Guy was preceded in death by his wife Janice, parents, parents-in-law Leo and Helen Ruedinger, sister and brothers-in-law Gail and James Duncan and his brother-in-law and hunting buddy Richard "Dickie" Zelke.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 11 am at Most Blessed Sacrament Church (St. Mary's Church on the corner of Merritt & Monroe). Father Jerome Pastors will be the celebrant. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9 am until the time of Mass. Committal services will be held at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Oshkosh. In Lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Guy's name.
