Hallie Elizabeth Rusch's Obituary
Born on the 4th of July, 1912, Hallie Elizabeth Bennett Rusch died Sunday, September 2, 2012 at the age of 100. The daughter of the late Ralph and Edith Lloyd Bennett of the town of Utica, Hallie attended Jackson School in Winnebago County and is a graduate of Oshkosh High School, class of 1930, and a graduate of Oshkosh Business College. Prior to her marriage, Hallie worked at the Schaller Company in Waupun for five years. She married Norman Rusch on June 9, 1936. They resided near Ring, WI, until 1968 when they moved to Oshkosh. Norm and Hallie spent winters in their home in Holiday, Florida.
Hallie worked for Wisconsin State Canners in Pickett, Rusch Realty in Oshkosh and was very active in her community. She was a member of the Ring Belles Homemakers Club, a 4-H club leader, and played bridge. She was a lifelong member of Bethesda Presbyterian Church, and the Ladies Guild. Hallie was an excellent cook, especially known for her pies and bakes beans.
Norm died in 1997. Hallie is survived by her children Mary Lou (Tom)Koepp, of Farragut, TN; Arlene (Blair) Stanicek, Salem, SC; Tom (Sue Herzer) Rusch, Hettinger, ND. Her grandchildren are Tammy O'Donnell, Lexington, KY; Tracy Bridges, Farragut, TN; Tim Rusch, Omro; Heidi Curtis, Fond du Lac; Becki Wesenberg, Oshkosh, and twelve great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Burton and Eugene Bennett and two sisters, Lucy Rilling and Marion Goodrich.
Funeral services for Hallie will be held in Fiss & Bills Funeral Home, 865 S. Westhaven, on Wednesday, September 5, at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Jo Ann Schoblaske officiating. Burial will follow at Bethesda Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, Today from 5:00-7:00 PM and also at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the hour of services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Bethesda Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 303, Pickett, WI, 54964.
