Harold Galow's Obituary
Harold A. Galow, age 86 of Oshkosh passed away peacefully on Friday, September 7, 2012 at Evergreen Manor. He was born in Pontiac MI. on July 26, 1926 the son of Arthur and Ada Raddatz Galow. At age 5, the family moved to rural Oshkosh, where he later graduated from Oshkosh High School and the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh. He was united in marriage to Beatrice R. Hugger on June 25, 1949 at St. Vincents Church in Oshkosh and they were blessed with 63 together. Harold was a faithful member of Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, St. Marys Catholic Church. Harold worked at Rockwell International for 35 years until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of UAW 291. He enjoyed Hunting season with his sons and all sporting events with them and his grandchildren. Being a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan, resulted in a memorable trip with his wife Bea, along with the Cubs team and 750 Cubs fans for a Hawaian Cruise on the USS Constitution. His family always came first and his greatest pride were his 3 children who survive him, Dr. Timothy (Fran) Galow of Appleton, Theresa Bowman of Oshkosh and Dr. Thomas ( Meg) Galow of Oshkosh. He is futher survived by his seven grandchildren, Sean (Christine) Galow, Dr. Timothy (Amy) Galow, Drew Galow, Kaizie (Mike) Laak, Piersen (Stacy) Bowman, Kelsey and Erin Galow. Five great grandchildren, Emily, Will, Calvin, Vivienne and Julia Galow. Harold is survived by his wife Bea, of 63 years and his sister, Verna (George) Dobberke of Neenah and many other relatives and dear friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at 11:00 am in Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, St. Peters Church, the Rev. James Jugenheimer officiating. Entombment will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Family and friends may call at the Church Wednesday from 10am until the time of services and on Tuesday from 5-7pm at the Poklasny Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers a Memorial has been established. Bea and the family extend a sincere and heartfelt thank you to Dr. Phyllis Lee, Nurse Karie Chapman and all the staff at Evergreen Manor for their loving care given to Harold during his stay with them. Dear husband, dad, grandpa and great grandpa, we will miss you, but what mattered most is that you loved all of us and we all loved you
