Helen Griep's Obituary
Helen Griep, age 87, of Oshkosh passed away on Saturday afternoon October 20, 2012 at Eden Meadows in Oshkosh, WI. She was born in Gresham, WI on June 16, 1925 the daughter of Joseph and Teresa (Weber) Stoehr. Helen married Frederick Griep on June 21, 1947 in Gresham, WI. Helen was a faithful member of St. Jude Parish (St. Vincent Church) in Oshkosh. She attended the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, and was a former school teacher. Helen is survived by her husband Fred and children Mary (John) Verwiel, Catherine Truyman, Jerome (Renee) Griep and Kelly (Dennis) Strouf. Grandchildren: Stacy, Jennifer and Lindsey Verwiel, Melissa (Chad) Boettcher, Patty (Kyle) Fugar, Brandon, Shannon, Kelsey and Colleen Griep. Great Grandchildren: Aidan Kropidlowski, Lilly and Gavin Boettcher and Liam Fugar. Also survived by sister Loraine Grosskopf and brother-in-law Roy Faley. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Wally, Charlie, Raymond, Norman, Joseph, David and sisters Ida, Lucille, Marie, Margo and Teresa. Memorial services will be held on Friday October 26, 2012 at 11:30am at Poklasny Funeral Home at 870 W. South Park Ave. Oshkosh, WI 54902. Deacon Pat Gelhar will officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday at the funeral home from 10am until the time of service. The family wishes to thank the staff of Mercy Medical Center, Eden Meadows Rehab and Affinity Hospice.
