Ian (Christian) Stoeckert's Obituary
Christian (Ian) Stoeckert, (Known as “Ian” to all friends and family) age 43, unexpectedly passed
away on May 11, 2023.
Ian was born on May 19, 1979 in Fairfax County, VA to Gerard Stoeckert and Debra Irish. Ian
graduated from Oshkosh North High School, Class of 1997 and spent most of his adult life as an
entrepreneur. As a child Ian enjoyed spending summers in Virginia at his grandparent’s home
and vacationing with them at North Myrtle Beach, SC. Ian had a competitive spirit. He was an
avid swimmer/diver for most of his childhood and throughout high school even making several
appearances at state. Ian’s greatest passion was music, especially playing guitar and sharing his
vast knowledge of the instrument.
Ian had an adventurous spirit that included taking risks. He loved traveling, bungee jumping, and
even an occasional sky dive. Not all roads that Ian traveled took him where he expected or
intended but Ian and Lee introduced Nykael Stoeckert to the world in 2015 and in 2018 he
married Lee Vang in a traditional Hmong ceremony. Nykael was Ian’s life and light. Along with
Lee’s two children, Nykael gave Ian new prospective on life. He was a proud doting and devoted
father that loved to take Nykael to her Gymnastic meets where (with his encouragement) she
excelled. Ian was a loyal and loving man. He had a big heart and had great love for his family.
He was always willing to give his time for those who needed it. He is loved and will be greatly
missed.
