Irene M. Hoffmann's Obituary
Irene M.Hoffmann, age 87, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully with her family at her side at her home on Monday, March 10, 2014. She was born on May 11, 1926 in Oshkosh, a daughter of the late Harry M. and Dione (Coffey) Hafemeister. She married Alfred Hoffmann on June 14, 1947 in Oshkosh. Alfred preceded her in death on May 7, 1998. Irene was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church and had worked as a CNA for 18 years at Evergreen Manor. She raised two grandchildren, Jessica (Bryan) Bender and Justin Fritz. She greatly enjoyed house plants, geneology, painting, camping and helped her daughter with her business, Mail Me Chocolates.
She is survived by and her memory will be cherished by a son, James (Karen) Hoffmann; four daughters, Cheryl (Robert) Kreuter of Green Bay, Mary Ann Bennett of Omro, Linda (James) Plamann of Appleton and Michelle (Ezz El Din) Hoffmann-Ismail of Oshkosh; twelve grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Oscar Hoffmann of Manawa; two sister-in-laws, Mary Hoffmann of Waupaca and Areme Hafemeister of Oshkosh. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Laura; two sisters, Myrtle Bauer and an infant sister Dione Hafemeister; two brothers, William and Harry.
Funeral services for Irene will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 12 noon in the Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home, 865 S. Westhaven Dr. with the Rev. Fr. Michael Warden officiating. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund will be established. The family wishes to thank both Aurora Hospice and Home Instead for the loving care that was extended to Irene and her family.
