James Balda's Obituary
James Balda, age 81, of Oshkosh, died Wednesday July 3, 2013 at his home. He was born in Oshkosh, on October 11, 1931 the son of the late Edward and Lorraine Griedl Balda. On October 1, 1955 Jim married Miriam Morris in Ripon. She preceded him in death on March 25, 1991. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Until the time of his retirement Jim was employed by Oshkosh Truck CO. He enjoyed gardening, watching the Packers, Brewers, Bucks, and Badgers. Jim was Catholic by faith and was a member of St. John’s Catholic church in Oshkosh.
Survivors include one son; Larry Balda, of Oshkosh, one brother; Steve (Carole) Balda, Reedsburg, WI., and one sister; Jackie (Ted) Moore, Brown Deer WI. Jim is further survived by many other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services for Jim will be held in Poklasny Funeral Home (870 W South Park) on Monday July 8, at 11:00 AM with the Rev. William Van DeKreeke officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 AM until the hour of services.
