James Gregory Campbell's Obituary
James “Jim” Gregory Campbell, age 80, of Appleton passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 21, 2016. He was born in Oshkosh, WI on June 3, 1936 to the late Ronald and Lucille (Garbe) Campbell. Jim married his high school sweetheart, Jean A. (Robl) Campbell, on September 30, 1961.
Jim graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1954. He then attended Oshkosh State College and was employed by Kimberly-Clark Corporation. He served in the 32nd National Guard of Wisconsin, stationed in Washington. Upon returning to Wisconsin, he began employment with Georgia Pacific Corp. where he worked for 48 years until he retired at age 74. Jim was an avid sports fan and could always be found watching the Brewers, Badgers, Bucks and especially his Packers. Jim also enjoyed golfing, bowling and fishing. He treasured time with his wife and family, birthdays, barbecues, and especially their 50th anniversary trip to Maui, Hawaii. Jim’s quick wit and sense of humor will be missed by all that knew him.
Jim is survived by his daughters, Cathy (Doug) Pahlow and Michelle (Judd) Campbell/Brinkman; 3 grandchildren: Alex and Lauren Pahlow, and Julia Brinkman; brother, Steven (Bonnie) Campbell, sister-in-law, Deborah Wiltsey, and numerous nieces and nephews.
On July 4, 2016, Jim lost his true love and wife, Jean, to breast cancer. He was also preceded in death by his parents Ronald and Lucille Campbell and his sister Barbara Hendricksen.
Per Jim’s request there will be no funeral. A private service and interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Jim’s name to the American Heart Association/ American Stroke Association, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, IL 60674
