James Allen Dillman's Obituary
James (Jim/Olie) Allen Dillman, age 50 passed away unexpectedly July 14, 2018. He was born May 2, 1968 to Edward A and Helen E Dillman. Jim worked as a Corrections Officer for the Wisconsin Department of Corrections in Oshkosh.
Jim enjoyed life and loved fishing, hunting, and riding his Harley motorcycle. He adored teaching others the love of the sport and was a Hunter Safety Instructor with Spring Brook Sportsman Club. Jim was an active individual. If he wasn’t out on his boat with friends, playing fetch with his dog Val, playing sheepshead with the family, skiing, biking, or making his famous grilling masterpieces and homemade bread, he was hanging out enjoying a cold one because he would say in heaven there is no beer, so he needed to drink it here.
He is survived by his brother Michael (Debra) Dillman and their children Brent (Tami) Dillman; Jenny Rost (TJ Andre); Wendi Dillman (fiancé Rick Thielitz). Sisters Kim Kopp (Kevin Johnson) and her children Caroline (fiancé Jeremy Fisher-Haase) and Alan; Lynn (Andy) Jones and their children Cameron and Elizabeth; Colleen (Mike) Stadler and their children Alicia and Katie. He is further survived by his Uncle Denny (Kathleen) Dillman, his cousins, best friends, and his dog Val.
Jim was proceeded in death by his parents, Edward and Helen Dillman and his brother-in-law Wayne Kopp.
A celebration of Life will be held at Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home located at 865 S Westhaven Dr, Oshkosh, WI 54904 Thursday July 19, 2018. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. with a service at 6:00 p.m. There will be a private graveside burial at a later date. Memorials in Jim’s name can be made to the American Heart Association.
The family wishes to thank the medical staff at Ministry Health in Woodruff for their valiant efforts in trying to keep Jim with us. Heaven gained a new angel while our family lost a beloved brother, uncle and best friend. I’ve finished life’s chores assigned to me, So put me on a boat headed out to sea. Please send along my fishing pole For I’ve been invited to the fishin’ hole. Where every day is a day to fish, To fill your heart with every wish. Don’t worry, or feel sad for me, I’m fishin’ with the Master of the sea. We will miss each other for awhile, But you will come and bring your smile. That won’t be long you will see, Till we’re together you and me. To all of those that think of me, Be happy as I go out to sea. If others wonder why I’m missin’ Just tell ’em I’ve gone fishin’ Dalmar Pepper
