James "Jim" Leary Keliher's Obituary
James "Jim" Leary Keliher, age 89 of Oshkosh passed away on Friday, June 4, 2021 at his residence. Jim was born in Milwaukee, WI on April 11, 1932 the son of Timothy and Margaret (Johannes) Keliher. Jim graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1951, he then joined the US Air Force Strategic Air Command from 1951-1955. On November 20, 1954 he married Patricia Youngwirth at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Jim was employed at Oshkosh Motor Truck for 44 years, after retirement he was a courtesy driver for Bergstrom in Oshkosh.
Jim was actively involved with the Knights of Columbus for 60 years. He thoroughly enjoyed going on the Honor Flight in 2016, traveling throughout the US and Europe, spending winters in Key West and Orlando, going on ocean cruises, going to car races in Daytona and Dover with his sons and also the Casino.
Jim had a big heart and was always there to help others. His children knew he was always available for them and could fix anything.
Jim is survived by his wife Pat in Oshkosh. Three children, James (Vickie) Keliher of Groveland, FL, Jean (Michael) Talbot of Wrightstown, WI and Joseph (Andrea) Keliher of Townsend, DE. Grandchildren, Meghan (John) Dunigan, Allison (Bob) Stephenson, Matt Talbot and Larissa (Robert) Hill. Great grandchildren, Liam and Kieran Dunigan. Owen, Lily and Maddy Stephenson. And his brother, Timothy (Julaine) Keliher.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother John Keliher.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 16, 2021 at 3 pm at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Oshkosh. Father Tom Long will be the celebrant. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 2 pm until the time of Mass.
