James "Jim" Steckbauer's Obituary
James “Jim” Steckbauer, 71, passed away unexpectedly on July 26, 2024 at Ascension Mercy
Medical Center.
He was born on March 10, 1953 in Oshkosh to Eugene and Kathleen
Steckbauer. He was a graduate of Lourdes High School and spent the majority of his working
years in the food service industry, most recently retiring from WI Resource Center in Oshkosh.
“Steck” spent some of his younger years living Vail, CO and was a talented skier. He was a
proud member of the Ravinos Skiing Club. He was also a member of the Hank’s Club in
Oshkosh and enjoyed spending time there, especially during Packer games. Jim was a proud
grandfather to his four grandchildren and his grand-dog, Ollie.
Jim is survived by his children Bailey (Jarred Reeves) Steckbauer and Sam (Claire) Steckbauer,
his grandchildren Penelope, Leo and Theodore Steckbauer and Millie Reeves. In addition, Jim
is survived by his sister Carol (Jim Hoffman) Schuenke, niece Lexie (Ethan) Firgens,
grand-nephews Hudson and Tucker Firgens, and sister-in-law Judy Steckbauer. Jim was
preceded in death by his parents and his brother Tom Steckbauer.
The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
