James Arthur Lehndorf's Obituary
James A. Lehndorf, 77, died Sunday, March 21, 2021 in his home. James was born on November 6, 1943 in Neenah, WI to the late Arthur and Marion (Zellmer) Lehndorf. After graduating from Oshkosh High school in 1961, he held various positions before joining the Oshkosh Police Department in 1967 where he became a police officer. He later became a detective and a sergeant. He retired from the Oshkosh Police Department in 1997. James married Cathy Snell on October 6, 1984. James and Cathy enjoyed traveling together throughout the years as well as cross country skiing together. Following his retirement, he took up several hobbies including golf, photography and painting. James is a lifelong member of the Oshkosh Aces Motorcycle Club and also enjoyed his time riding his Harleys.
James is survived by his loving wife, Cathy Lehndorf; two sons, Robert “Bob” (Denise Everson) Lehndorf and James “Jim” (Kim) Lehndorf; a daughter, Laurie Koshollek; five grandchildren, Travis (Natasha) Lehndorf, Tyler Lehndorf, Chelsea (Bryan) Peppler, Casey (Cody Mueller) Lehndorf, and Kyle Koshollek; two great grandchildren, Kennedy Peppler and Bristol Huss; and one niece, Michelle Bloedow. James was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Mary Ann Bloedow and his niece, Tracie Baylor.
James will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A memorial service for James will be held Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at the Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home, 865 S Westhaven Drive, Oshkosh, WI 54904. A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Oshkosh Area Humane Society.
