James "Jim" Noe's Obituary
The family of James (Jim) Noe, 88, Oshkosh is saddened to announce his passing on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. He was born to James F. and Eleanor (Davis) Noe on June 15, 1937 in New York. He later moved to Wisconsin where he met Judith (Judy) Reischl. They were married on January 23, 1971, and made their home in Oshkosh where they raised two sons, Brian and Scott. They were married for 46 years before her passing in 2017. Prior to her passing, Judy spent a few years in a care facility, and Jim would visit her multiple times a day, nearly every day, and has missed her dearly ever since.
While growing up in New York, Jim attended Cardinal Farley Military Academy and went on to serve in the United States Marines Corps. Having been an accomplished athlete in his early school days, he never lost his love of sports and supporting youth in sports. After coaching his own kids in Club 6-1/2 softball, he continued coaching and organizing Club 6-1/2 for many years until his grandchildren started playing baseball. When his son, Scott, played baseball in high school, Jim missed only one of Scott’s games in all those years, and was just as dedicated as a fan when it came time to cheer on his three grandsons playing the game in later years. He developed many great friendships at ball parks over the years, many of which lasted the rest of his days.
He worked until the age of 85 but finally decided to relax a little more and retired from Accu-Com in 2024. During his many years with Accu-Com, the Moores became a second family to Jim.
Anyone who knew him knew he was very independent, referring to himself as a stubborn old Marine. He was fortunate to live a long and healthy life, proudly boasting his only two drugs were caffeine and nicotine, and that “doctors are only for sick people.” It’s good that he was healthy most of his life since he was anything but patient as a patient. During his brief illness, he received fantastic care from all the nurses he challenged, yet they all treated him very kindly and provided excellent care, for which his family will always be grateful.
He wasn’t known for giving unsolicited advice to his family very often, however they always knew he would do anything he could for them if asked. He welcomed his son’s wives into the family as if they were the daughters he never had. His five grandchildren kept him alive and active over the years, and he lived long enough to welcome four great-grandchildren into the world.
James is survived by his sons, Brian (Paula) Noe, and Scott Noe; grandchildren, Alexander, Nathaniel, Matthew, Morgan and Ethan; great-grandchildren, Elzabeth, Maddeline, Myles, and Selah, and many good friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Judy.
A private family memorial service will be held; anyone wishing to share their own memories of Jim with the family is encouraged to do so.
“He will be deeply missed but never forgotten. May he rest in peace until we meet again. Semper Fi.”
